We have launched a murder investigation after a 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Coventry last night (Tuesday 31 March).

Officers were called after the man was found with serious injuries at the BP garage in Lockhurst Lane, Holbrooks just after 11pm.

Work has started on a temporary mortuary site at Birmingham Airport in preparation for a predicted rise in the number of fatalities from coronavirus. 

The site will initially be able to accommodate 1,500 deaths as usual mortuary provisions reach capacity, but will expand to hold more.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of trying to hold-up a Black Country convenience store with a sawn-off shotgun.

We received a 999 call from the shop in Silver Court, Brownhills, at 7.15pm last night (24 March) reporting two men bursting in and demanded takings.

It’s been two years today (Wednesday 25 March), since Daniel Shaw, 28, was found dead with gunshot injuries to his chest in Copland Place in the Tile Hill area of the city.

Officers were called to Sutton Street just after 6pm, where a 47-year-old woman was sadly found deceased inside her home.

The 17-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, fatally stabbed Robert in the chest after a dispute over drugs.

A former Birmingham dance teacher has been convicted of further sexual offences against his former pupils after previously receiving a five year sentence in 2018.

Neil Harris, of Manta Road in Tamworth, taught at a dance school in Erdington for over 50 years from 1957 until 2017.
