UPDATE: More arrests following Selly Oak stabbings
Two more teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of wounding after the stabbing of three teenagers in Selly Oak, Birmingham, yesterday (10 December).
Officers were called to Weoley Park Road at around 4.20pm after three boys suffered stab wounds. They were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening or life-changing.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault around 7.30pm last night. And today (Tuesday), two boys aged 14 were held on suspicion of wounding.
Officers have been working with local schools today, gathering CCTV evidence and taking statements.
Insp Noeleen Murrin said: “I know the impact that this will have on our local community, but our investigation is progressing rapidly and we now have three people in custody.
“We believe this was a targeted attack on individuals. Nevertheless, we will be carrying out reassurance patrols in around the area over the coming days.”
