Two people charged in charity fund fraud investigation 

Two people have been charged today (Monday 30 September) by detectives from West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit.

Kaldip Singh Lehal, aged 38, and Rajbinder Kaur, aged 50, both of Hamstead Road, Birmingham, were arrested on 3 July 2019 in connection with alleged fraud offences of donated charitable funds.

Kaur has been charged with money laundering, six counts of theft amounting to £50,000 and one count under Section 60 of the Charities Act 2011 - knowingly or recklessly provide false or misleading information to the commission. 

Lehal has been charged with one count under Section 60 of the Charities Act 2011 - knowingly or recklessly provide false or misleading information to the commission.

They have been bailed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 31 October.
