Teenager charged following Erdington stabbing

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Erdington on Monday have today (15 November) charged a teenage boy. 

Officers were alerted by ambulance colleagues after a 15-year-old boy was found with stab injuries at the junction of Beech Road and Sycamore Road at around 8pm.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and grievous bodily harm with intent. He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today. 

Two 15-year-old boys, who were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
