Sandwell police team shortlisted for prestigious award

It’s been a fantastic start to 2020 for our Sandwell Partnerships team who have been shortlisted for a prestigious award for their work on modern slavery.

Sandwell Partnerships’ Slavery and Trafficking Operational Partnership (SHOP) is shortlisted in the top three for the international Stop Slavery Awards and the team has been invited to London to attend a ceremony on 20 February, where they will be competing against the likes of Delta Air and HSBC!

Their hard work led to a group being set up to give further help to those found to be working illegally, if they aren’t being paid the national minimum wage, or if their working conditions and hours are not in line with government guidelines.

The Stop Slavery Award was launched by the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2015 to recognise companies who can be considered as leading the way with their policies and processes to limit the risk of slavery.

Good luck!
