Police make renewed appeal for information on Rezwan Ali murder

Detectives are making a fresh appeal for anyone who may have information about the murder of Rezwan Ali at a house party in Walsall on 14 January last year.

Student Rezwan Ali, 19, was found collapsed at an address in Willows Road, at around 1.45am having suffered a knife wound to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six teenagers arrested on suspicion of his murder were released pending further investigation.

Detective Inspector Warren Hines, from the force’s Homicide team, said: “We believe there was a fight at some stage and that has ultimately led to a young man losing his life.

“I know Rezwan’s family are still looking for answers, and I can assure them that we are absolutely committed to bringing those responsible for his death to justice.

“I’d ask anyone with any information that can help our enquiry, who hasn’t yet spoken to us for whatever reason, to get in touch.

“I would also ask the person or people responsible to do the right thing and get in touch so that I can hear your side of the story.

“Rezwan’s death was a tragic loss of life and my thoughts remain with his family and friends."

Anyone with information, or anyone who was at the party in Willows Road, is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
