Police appeal following fatal Brierley Hill collision
We are appealing for information following a fatal collision on Pensnett Road in the Brierley Hill area of Dudley in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 2 April).
Officers were called to the road outside Russells Hall hospital just after 12.30am after a 50-year-old woman was hit by a car travelling down the road. Sadly, she died from her injuries soon after and her next of kin are now being traced.
The 57-year-old driver of the Range Rover car that hit the woman stopped at the scene and he is assisting us with enquiries.
We are asking anyone that may have seen what happened to get in touch with us.
Sergeant Alan Hands from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone that may have seen what happened in the lead up to or after the collision this morning.
“The woman was being treated at Russells Hall hospital for an injury yesterday (Wednesday 1 April), she left in the early hours of this morning and then got hit by a car. We need to work out how she got into the road and I’d be keen for drivers to check their dash-cam footage if they were driving in the area at the time.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, quoting log 72 of 2 April.
Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
