Modern slavery arrests in Handsworth

We’ve arrested two people on suspicion of modern slavery offences in Handsworth, Birmingham.

Officers attended a property on Regent Road just before 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 20 February), after a concern for safety was raised in relation to its occupants.

We’ve arrested a 45-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of modern slavery offences and they remain in custody this afternoon (Friday 21 February).

A number of women at the address have been safeguarded following information indicating that they were being sexually exploited.
