Investigation into series of robberies across Birmingham
We are investigating a series of robberies around the Rubery, Selly Oak and Kings Norton areas of Birmingham.
We believe a group of teenagers and men, aged between 15 - 21 have been in either a small dark or silver coloured hatchback car and are targeting teenagers and students for personal items, such as phones and money.
There have been a number of offences over the last few weeks, and most of the offences have been happening between Friday – Monday during the afternoon to early evening.
It has been reported that on occasions, they have been armed with weapons, but fortunately no one has been injured. We believe they are using them to threaten and intimate people.
Violence is a priority for us and so far we have identified a number potential suspects and we are working to arrest them.
Being victim of a robbery is a frightening experience. We understand that even if you’re not physically hurt if can be extremely distressing to be threatened with violence.
