A suspected burglar bit off more than he could chew when he got stuck in an extractor at a takeaway for SEVEN HOURS and had to shout to passers-by for help.

An officer snapped this picture of the suspect.
How police found the burglary suspect

Response officer PC Matthew Willocks was sent to the scene and snapped this picture of the hapless suspect, who was finally released from the hole just before 9am.

He said: “The extractor unit had been removed and the suspect had climbed in to the extractor outlet at around 2am. He was completely stuck and couldn’t move at all.

“The fire brigade had to come in and use the jaws of life to pull back all the extractor casing to release him.”

A man aged 45 from Handsworth was taken to hospital for a check-up and has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
