Police officers assaulted after arresting a woman in Solihull
Three police officers are recovering today after they were assaulted by a woman who had been arrested.
Officers were called to an address in Baxters Road Solihull, just before 5am this morning (Saturday) following reports of a domestic disturbance.
A 34-year-old woman at the house was arrested for breach of the peace after refusing to leave and was taken by police to hospital to be treated for some facial injuries.
While being treated at hospital she kicked two police officers, one in the shoulder and one in the knee and bit a third officer on the thumb, causing the skin to break.
The woman was restrained and has since been further arrested for police assault and remains in custody.
All three officers were treated for their injuries and are being supported by the force.
Chief Inspector Jack Hadley from Force Response said: “Thankfully there were no serious injuries this time, but assaults on officers trying to do their job is not acceptable."
