Police appeal following fatal collision in Willenhall

Police are appealing for information after a teenager died following a collision in Willenhall this morning (16 September).

It is believed the 19-year-old, who was driving a Peugeot 206, lost control of the vehicle before hitting a wall on Essington Road around 4.15am.

The motorist suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Our thoughts remain with his family who are being supported by specialist officers.

The road was closed while initial investigations were carried out but has since re-opened.

Sergeant Alan Hands from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A teenager has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his family at this terribly traumatic time.
"We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to help us establish the circumstances around this collision."
Anyone with information can call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101; quoting log number 280 of 16/09/19. Alternatively contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am to midnight.
