DETECTIVES in Birmingham have launched an investigation into a series of assaults in the Lozells area of the city.

Operation Greenpathway is an inquiry into seven incidents, which have taken place between June and December 2009. In each incident a lone male has been assaulted, with no known motive. None of the men have been seriously injured. On each occasion a knife has been either used, or been seen by the victim.

Officers urge anyone with information relating to the incidents, or who recognises the description of the offender to contact CID at Thornhill Road police station on 0845 113 5000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
