Forced Marriages
Forced Marriage not a criminal offence BUT when someone is being forced into a marriage a number of offences are committed such as; assault, kidnap, rape and murder
The Police will act quickly and effectively safeguarding not only the victim but other family members, boy/girlfriends and their families if required.
A forced Marriage Protection Order can be applied for at the family courts with or without the support of the Police.
Both British and non British citizens can apply for the order.
Children under the age of 18yrs can also apply for the order.
A forced marriage protection order can assist a victim that has been taken abroad for a forced marriage, by returning them to England/Wales.
In order to apply for a forced marriage protection order you need to go to the HM courts website.

They are regularly used for victims that have been taken abroad for a forced marriage /or have already been forced into a marriage.
