- The Park Mark® Safer Parking Award is granted to parking areas that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment as conducted by the police. These requirements mean the parking operator has put measures in place to help deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking area. Visit www.britishparking.co.uk to find out more.
- For Park Mark® car parks near you, visit www.securedcarparks.com.
- Look for people or barrier controlled access and exit points
- Lock all windows, doors and the sunroof whenever you leave a vehicle, even for just a few minutes
- If you can't take possessions with you - lock them in the boot
- Don’t:
- Leave valuables on display in your car
- Mobile phones, coats, bags and CDs are all potential targets for thieves so always take them with you
- Never leave keys in the ignition – even for a few seconds
