The Safer Travel Partnership is a collaboration between West Midlands Police, British Transport Police, the public transport authority Centro and bus operators. The partnership works to reduce crime and anti social behaviour and provide reassurance to the travelling public using the transport network across the West Midlands.
Inspector Al Green
Safer Travel Police
Team Manager
The Safer Travel Police Team consists of Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based at Centro House in Birmingham. The team is responsible for responding to issues as they emerge and to achieve this have developed a number of overt and covert tactics often using the very latest technology.
The partnership welcomes information from the public who can notify the team through the See Something Say Something scheme of unacceptable behaviour on the bus or metro. This is done by simply texting 'Bus' or 'Metro', leave a space and then give us details of the problem with time, date, location and route number to 83010. This information will then be used in our tasking process to ensure we are putting the public first in everything we do.
