Help us identify woman's body pulled from canal

POLICE are appealing for help to identify a woman who's body was recovered from a Wolverhampton canal yesterday.
The woman was found in the early hours of yesterday morning by two passersby at the old Main Line canal at the junction of Broad Street and the A4124 Wednesfield Road around 5.45am.
Detectives believe the woman had been in the water for a few hours but are trying to establish her identity so they can find out her movements before her death.
The woman has been described as white, mid to late 60s, 5ft to 5ft 2ins tall, slim to thin build, brown/greying hair. When she was found, she was wearing a blue blouse with a purple wool cardigan and a dark blue skirt with cream shoes. She also had a wedding and engagement ring on her finger.
CCTV is being examined and a number of people who were in the area at the time have been spoken with. Officers have also checked current reported missing people in the area.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained. A post mortem examination will take place in due course.
