Wolverhampton is home to an estimated 236,582 people. It has a diverse and wide-ranging population, with numerous communities from all backgrounds and ethnicities living alongside one another.
Policing in Wolverhampton is split into 21 neighbourhood teams that are co-terminus with local authority ward boundaries. Each of these neighbourhood teams has a dedicated sergeant, a number of dedicated police officers and also numerous police community support officers (PCSOs).
Police and partners in Wolverhampton are working hard to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and make our city a safer place for everyone.
The most recent Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), carried out by the Audit Commission on behalf of the Government, showed that crime in Wolverhampton has continued to fall and is now below the average for similar areas.
Total recorded crime fell by nearly 10 per cent last year, a reduction of over 2000 crimes. There have been 700 fewer serious thefts of possessions and money and progress is being made in the way crime and anti-social behaviour are handled.
