CCTV image released following a sexual assault in Walsall town centre

WALSALL Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault that happened in June.

A 42-year-old woman was assaulted on a car park on Freer Street, Walsall on Wednesday 27 June between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

The woman was on Bridge Street when a man approached her and asked her is she had a light. He then grabbed her lighter and walked off, the victim then followed him to retrieve her property.

She followed him to Freer Street where he grabbed her, stole her mobile phone and assaulted her.

He is described as Asian, with short spiky hair, is believed to be in his mid twenties and around 5ft 8ins. He was wearing skinny jeans, red t-shirt and white trainers with red laces.

Officers investigating the incident have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident and are urging anyone who may be able to identify him to come forward.
