Boak leather factory fire in Walsall is being treated as arson, police appeal for information

POLICE have today confirmed that a major fire at an industrial landmark is being treated as arson.

Emergency services were called to the disused Boak leather factory on Monday evening around 10.30pm.

The fire completely destroyed the Grade II listed building and roads in the vicinity were closed for days as the premises were made safe.

Detectives from force CID have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious from around 9pm on Monday evening to come forward.
