Police discover cannabis factory following arrests for Walsall house burglary

POLICE in Walsall have arrested three men following a burglary at a house in Pleck in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to the property in Prince Street just after 1.00am on Friday 27 July following the reports of a burglary taking place. Officers arrived at the scene to find the front door of the property had already been forced.
Two men, both aged 24, and one man, aged 30, all from the Birmingham area, were located in the property.
The men were wearing gloves and in possession of a crowbar and were subsequently arrested by police on suspicion of burglary. They remain in custody helping police with enquiries.
Following a thorough search of the property police discovered a cannabis factory in the loft space of the property containing approximately 30 cannabis plants.
Sergeant Stephen Davis from Walsall police, said: "This is a good result for us as the 30 year old man is also wanted for other offences, including burglary.
"We are still making enquiries about the occupier of the property and we are appealing to local residents for any information to contact us.
"We hope that today reassures the local community that we will take action on any information received and encourage the local community to call us if they would like to report any criminality that may be occurring in their area."
