West Midlands Police Authority approves Business partnering for Police strategic case
12 July 2012
The West Midlands Police Authority approved the Business Partnering for Police strategic business case at its meeting today.
Business partnering is about bringing new ways of working and achieving value for money. It is not about privatisation and anyone else providing core police services.
The authority also considered the timetable of the selection of business partners in light of the decision by Surrey Police Authority to suspend its involvement in the process.
The West Midlands Police Authority decided to defer any decision of the selection of partners until the election of the Police and Crime Commissioner in November.
Work will continue on the West Midlands programme so the new PCC has a range of options when he or she takes office.
The force and the authority remain committed to transforming services to provide the best and most effective policing for our communities.
