School iPads worth 11k stolen by burglars
26 October 2012
THIEVES have stolen £11,000 worth of iPads from a school in Walsall.
They broke into Yew Tree Primary on Birchfield Way on the Yew Tree estate at around 1:15am on Tuesday.
After gaining entry by smashing a double glazed door panel, they helped themselves to 29 of the devices – as well as keyboards and cases.
Police are now appealing for help from the public to trace the offenders and are asking for anyone who may have been approached to buy an iPad in suspicious circumstances to come forward.
Security at the school and police patrols have been stepped up since the burglary.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of Tuesday morning or who has any information about who may be responsible should contact Sandwell CID on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
