Baseball capped burglary suspect caught on CCTV

10 October 2012

A GROUP of youths are thought to be responsible for a burglary in Willenhall, Walsall last month.

CCTV footage shows the teens coming and going on bikes around the Brackendale Precinct in Stroud Avenue between 11.30am and 1pm on Saturday 1 September.

One image shows a young man on a flat roof above the shops. Police are appealing to the public to help identify him.

The thieves ransacked a first floor flat and took a number of electrical items, after forcing the front door.

Detective Constable Neil Cunnington, from Walsall CID, said: “This burglary was brazenly carried out in the middle of a Saturday, when there must have been people about.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who recognises the lad in the CCTV image, who was wearing a bright blue baseball cap.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Cunnington on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
