Two dead at Walsall flats - man arrested on suspicion of murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two bodies were found at a block of flats in Walsall in the early hours of this morning (6 Oct).
A 69-year-old woman was found inside a flat in Acacia Avenue on the Yew Tree Estate with fatal injuries, whilst the body of a man believed to be in his 30s was discovered by officers on ground behind the apartments.
Police arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene after conducting house-to-house enquiries and he is being questioned by detectives about the deaths. Police forensics teams are at the scene.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Warren Hines, said: "We are not seeking anybody else at this stage in connection with the deaths...we believe all the parties involved were known to each other."
