Force extends condolences to Greater Manchester Police

THE DEPUTY Chief Constable of West Midlands Police, Dave Thompson, has issued the following statement to all officers and staff across the West Midlands.
“I am sure you will have seen the terrible news that two of our police colleagues in Manchester have today been fatally injured whilst on duty.
“This is a tragic day for the officers’ families, friends and colleagues.
“Once again, we are reminded of the bravery and the courage of officers policing the streets on a daily basis, protecting and serving the people of the West Midlands and beyond.
“I do not underestimate the impact that tragic news like this has on you, our colleagues and your families.
"As a force we have extended our condolences and offered support to Greater Manchester Police. Flags across the force have been ordered to be flown at half mast.”
