No giving, just taking, from Christmas Day thief
10 February 2012
A FAMILY home in Solihull was visited by a mysterious character on Christmas morning – but delivering goodwill and presents was the last thing on this man's mind.
Security cameras caught the festive visitor prising open the door of a works van in St Bernards Road, Olton, and getting away with almost £3,000 worth of works tools.
The suspect initially appeared in a two-tone blue and grey jacket with a luminous yellow stripe around the middle – but then returned a short while later to break into the van wearing a different dark coloured jacket.
He is described as a white make in his late 20s or early 30s, with slim build and a 'prominent' nose.

The tools stolen included a Paslode IM65 nail gun, a Makita impact drill, Bosch planer, Bosch multi-purpose drill, Hilti Batter drill and a Hilti breaker.
Anyone who believes they recognise the man, or who has been offered the tools for sale, is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Andrew O'Keeffe at Solihull Police CID on 0345 113 5000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
