Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:
Robbery/ASB Burnt Tree.
Historically residents in the Tividale/Burnt Tree area have suffered from incidents of ASB invoving noise and nuisance from groups of youth congregating in residential locations. Residents have reported youths playing football and possibly drinking alcohol. Young people have also informed us of their fear of attending Tividale Park due to the fear of being a victim of crime. Crime levels are comparitely low in and around the park but we are working to reduce that fear of crime.Feedback
Robbery/ASB Burnt Tree.: Crime and ASB levels continue to remain low in this area, we have maintained high visibility patrols at peak times. We are currently working with the Council, Local schools, Youth Services and local faith groups to imprpve facilities within the location and divert young people towards postitive activities.
Reduce Crime in Oldbury Town Centre.
We saw a reduction in crime for Oldbury Town Centre during the Christmas period following dedicated targetted patrols by Officers. There was a high visibility presence during store opening times with staff providing a visible deterent to potential offenders and offering reasurrance to store staff and visitors. We will continue to patrol at peak times where possible and continue to work with the stores with regards to crime prevention.Feedback
Reduce Crime in Oldbury Town Centre.: We are working with the Traders and Council to reduce offences of theft in the Town Centre and Retail Park. We are being supported in maintaining High Visibilty patrols at peak times by CAPT officers. We are working with the stores regarding crime prevention initiatives and making efforts to improve the sharing of information.
Neighbourhood police teams across Sandwell are working hard to resolve issues and concerns raised by the local community.
If you have a specific concern about the neighbourhood in which you live, there are a number of ways you can share this information with us.
You can:
- Attend a local police surgery or neighbourhood forum meeting. (Dates as listed on each neighbourhood webpage).
- Give the relevant neighbourhood team a call (Numbers are listed on the website)
- Stop one of our police officers or PCSOs on street patrol for a chat
- Visit one of our police stations and explain your concerns to a relevant officer.
- Email your neighbourhood team explaining your concerns (Email addresses can be found on each neighbourhood webpage)
There are also numerous community groups and schemes that work alongside officers to reduce and deter crime.
You can become involved in local Neighbourhood Watch schemes, or even set up your own scheme with the help of your neighbourhood officers. Contact them for more information.
Sandwell also has a voluntary charity organisation called the Sandwell Crime Prevention Panel. The panel is always looking for new members, and can be contacted by visiting the website at www.sandwellcrimeprevention.org
Fix My Street is also an excellent website that can be used to voice your concerns, and allows you to remain anonymous if you so wish. You can visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com.
Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon.
If it matters to you, it matters to us.
