Action - community priorities

The priorities for Cotteridge neighbourhood are:

  1. No Entry Sign - Midland Road, Cotteridge
Concerns have been raised by local residents regarding vehicles driving through the No Entry sign at the location.
  2. Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - Watford Road, Cotteridge
Concerns were raised regarding the behaviour of school children in the morning at the bus stop and in the local newsagents. The pupils are gathering in large numbers and behaving in an Anti Social Behaviour (ASB).
  3. Anti Social Behaviour outside McDonalds, Parsons Hill (Ongoing)
Although there has been less Anti Social Behaviour (ASB)outside McDonalds there are still ongoing problems in the local area. Police are to continue to patrol the area and target offenders. Operation Marigraph is the ongoing multi agency operation to target youths involved in Anti Social Behaviour (ASB).

Answers - feedback and solutions

The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:

  • Upkeep of Highway on Pakefield Road and Sherringham Road
Residents were concerned that the highways on Pakefield Road and Sherringham Road were unkempt.
In response to the residents requests, the local authority have since been along and swept the roads in order to maintain their upkeep.
  • Inconsiderate Parking outside of Kings Norton Fire Station
The local neighbourhood policing team have patrolled the area and advised motorists where necessary. Local businesses have also been advised of this issue and it will continue to be monitored by the local neighbourhood policing team.
  • Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - McDonalds, Parsons Hill
It has been reported that there is an improvement in the area, however local residents have requested that this is to remain a priority. The local neighbourhood policing team will continue to monitor the situation and speak to any persons involved who are seen to be causing Anti Social Behaviour (ASB).

How can you get involved?

Our neighbourhood policing teams are working hard to ensure that your personal concerns about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly, and that you are frequently given positive and useful feedback about the action we have taken.

But to do this we need your help.

We would love to hear from you about any issues you think the police should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways you can do this, including attending one of the police meetings that are held regularly, calling or emailing the team using the details above, or you could simply stop one of our officers or PCSOs in the street and have a chat.

Fix My Street is also a brilliant way to voice your concerns, anonymously if you wish! Why not visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com, pop your postcode in and see what issues have been raised about your street?

You could even get involved with your local Neighbourhood Watch by visiting www.neighbourhoodwatch.net.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon!
