Action - community priorities

The priorities for Druids Heath neighbourhood are:

  1. Anti social behaviour - Topfield House, Dunford Croft (Ongoing)
Residents have stated that there are large groups of youths congregating in the communal ground floor area and are being irate and loud in their behaviour. Also brought to the attention at the meeting is that some residents are allowing their pets to urinate between the flights of stairs in Topfield House.
  2. Phoenix Public House - Pound Road / Bells Lane
The licensed owner of the Phoenix Public House stated there has been recent Anti Social Behaviour outside the pub as well as graffiti being scrolled along the newly painted walls outside. The owner stated that the damage may have been caused by the increase of youths congregating outside of the pub.
  3. Other Matters
Due to the severe inclement weather over the past few weeks the Druids Heath Neighbourhood Tasking Meeting held at Baverstock School on Tuesday 12th January 2010 at 19.00hrs had to be cancelled hours before the meeting was being conducted.

Notification was sent out to a majority of our partners as well as contacting members of the community who regularly attend the meeting.
The Priorities will remain the same with Topsfield House being the main issue.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 9th February.

Answers - feedback and solutions

The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:

  • Phoenix Public House, Pound Road/ Bells Lane
Officers have liaised with the owner of The Phoenix Public House and made regular patrols. There are no logs or crimes taken place since.
  • Topfield House, Durnford Croft
Walk through of the tower block have been conducted by officers. Local tenants have been requested to write to the council regarding thee issue of keeping pets in tower blocks, dogs in particular.
The council has now identified 2 residents with regards to the problems caused and are currently looking at eviction orders.

How can you get involved?

Our neighbourhood policing teams are working hard to ensure that your personal concerns about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly, and that you are frequently given positive and useful feedback about the action we have taken.

But to do this we need your help.

We would love to hear from you about any issues you think the police should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways you can do this, including attending one of the police meetings that are held regularly, calling or emailing the team using the details above, or you could simply stop one of our officers or PCSOs in the street and have a chat.

Fix My Street is also a brilliant way to voice your concerns, anonymously if you wish! Why not visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com, pop your postcode in and see what issues have been raised about your street?

You could even get involved with your local Neighbourhood Watch by visiting www.neighbourhoodwatch.net.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon!
