Action - community priorities

The priorities for Brandwood neighbourhood are:

  1. Drugs Use in Lifford Close (Ongoing)
Residents have expressed their concern that people are using drugs in the flats which are situated in Lifford Close. The local neighbourhood policing team have been made aware and will continue to monitor the matter
    .
  2. Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - Dawberry Fields (Ongoing)
Off road motorbikes have been seen riding in the park and causing concern for local residents due to this becoming a potential hazard for people who are using the park.
  3. Speeding and Parking Issues - Broad Lane and nearby roads (Ongoing)
Vehicles have been speeding and parking inconsiderately on Broad Lane, Brandwood Road, Yarningale Road and Greenwood Close.
    .

Answers - feedback and solutions

The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:

  • Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) and drug use - Lifford Close (Ongoing)
Since the last tasking meeting, Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) has been reduced due to the high visibilty presence of the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSO's). There are still issues relating to drugs being used in the residential flats which will continue to be monitored. High visibilty officers will remain in the area and information received will be utilised.
    .
  • Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - Dawberry Fields (Ongoing)
The local neighbourhood policing team are aware of the problem and will continue to monitor and speak to persons found riding bikes in order to resolve the matter.
  • Broad Lane and Brandwood Park Road - Speeding
Patrols are in place and we now have a trained officer on our neighbourhood who will be able to monitor vehicles that are found speeding and prosecute motorists exceeding the speed limit in the area.
A speed sign has been erected on Broad Lane which will hopefully make drivers aware of their speed and result in them reducing it to the required limit.

How can you get involved?

Our neighbourhood policing teams are working hard to ensure that your personal concerns about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly, and that you are frequently given positive and useful feedback about the action we have taken.

But to do this we need your help.

We would love to hear from you about any issues you think the police should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways you can do this, including attending one of the police meetings that are held regularly, calling or emailing the team using the details above, or you could simply stop one of our officers or PCSOs in the street and have a chat.

Fix My Street is also a brilliant way to voice your concerns, anonymously if you wish! Why not visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com, pop your postcode in and see what issues have been raised about your street?

You could even get involved with your local Neighbourhood Watch by visiting www.neighbourhoodwatch.net.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon!
