Action - community priorities

The priorities for Kings Heath South neighbourhood are:

  1. Anti social behaviour (ASB) - Hazelwell Drive
Young people congregating, riding motor cycles inappropriately, causing anti social behaviour, litter and graffiti in Hazelwell Drive, Kings Terrace area.
  2. Speeding Vehicles - Brandwood Road and Allens Croft Road
Vehicles being driven at speed and racing around the corner of Brandwood Park Road and Allens Croft Road especially Sunday evenings.
  3. Burnt litter bin at Kings Road
Burnt out litter bin outside shop Kings road @ Partons Road.
  4. Vehicles obstructing traffic vision into Grove Road
Mitie vans parking in Partons Road early mornings obstructing the view of traffic travelling into Grove Road.

Answers - feedback and solutions

The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:

  • Fence obstructing view of oncoming traffic at Howard Road / Colmore Road
Fence at corner of Howard Road @ Colmore Road obstructing view of oncoming traffic.
Councillor Summerfield has reported this matter to the highways authority.
  • Speeding on Reeves Road and Dawberry Road
Speeding on Reeves Road and Dawberry Road in the mornings
The police team have requested a speed survey and are planning road safety inputs at Colmore and Allens Croft schools.
    .
  • Vacant allotment site - Dawberry Fields Road
What is happening to the vacant allotment site Dawberry Fields Road?
Councillor Summerfield is dealing with this matter and can answer any queries
    .
  • Other Updates
*The Chief Constable has issued a press release in which he pledges to deal with anti social behaviour as a priority issue. Kings Heath OCU have introduced a new policy which will ensure officers attending to incidents of anti social behaviour will investigate them in the same way they investigate a crime. The neighbourhood teams will then use any evidence to look at short and long term solutions working with partner agencies such as Housing and BASBU.
  • Anti Social Behaviour Orders issued
The Brandwood Police Team together with BASBU have secured an Anti Social Behaviour Order against an individual who has caused much alarm and distress to residents in the Allens Croft, Kings Heath, Kings Norton, Druids Heath and Bournville areas by his persistent behaviour of sitting in his parked car in residential areas and outside schools for long periods giving the impression he was watching residents personal movements.

How can you get involved?

Our neighbourhood policing teams are working hard to ensure that your personal concerns about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly, and that you are frequently given positive and useful feedback about the action we have taken.

But to do this we need your help.

We would love to hear from you about any issues you think the police should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways you can do this, including attending one of the police meetings that are held regularly, calling or emailing the team using the details above, or you could simply stop one of our officers or PCSOs in the street and have a chat.

Fix My Street is also a brilliant way to voice your concerns, anonymously if you wish! Why not visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com, pop your postcode in and see what issues have been raised about your street?

You could even get involved with your local Neighbourhood Watch by visiting www.neighbourhoodwatch.net.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon!
