Answers - feedback and solutions
The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:
- Parking in Colmore Road, near to junction with Vicarage Road, on school day
The neighbourhood team have asked the Head Teachers at Camp Hill Schools to remind their 6th form pupils that they can park at the Red Lion. We have paid attention but vehicles have always been parked legally.
. - Graffiti on wall at junction of Tenbury Road with Colmore Road
This matter has been resolved and the graffiti removed by the wall being painted over.
. - Snooker club for young people
The funding for this project has been approved and the club has now had two sessions. It has been well received with so far 11 young people from the Kings Road/Partons Road and Allens Croft areas taking part. All of the youngsters have signed a membership contract and understand if they are involved in crime or anti social behaviour they could risk losing their place. - Birmingham Royal Ballet Project
The Neighbourhood Managers, Den Youth Centre and Brandwood Centre have organised a programme where groups of adults and young people are working with the Birmingham Royal Ballet to produce a show which will be staged in the city. The young people will be involved in the project over February half term. If any one is interested in taking part please contact Richard Green tel 303 9762 richard.p.green@birmingham.gov.uk , Liz Wood at The Den Youth house tel 444 6955 or The Brandwood Centre. - Dawberry Fields Fun Day 2010
Following on from the success of last years event the Dawberry Fields Funday 2010 is to take place on Saturday 10th July. The committee are looking for local residents to join them and become involved in the planning of the day. How can you get involved?
Our neighbourhood policing teams are working hard to ensure that your personal concerns about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly, and that you are frequently given positive and useful feedback about the action we have taken.
But to do this we need your help.
We would love to hear from you about any issues you think the police should be tackling in your community.
There are lots of ways you can do this, including attending one of the police meetings that are held regularly, calling or emailing the team using the details above, or you could simply stop one of our officers or PCSOs in the street and have a chat.
Fix My Street is also a brilliant way to voice your concerns, anonymously if you wish! Why not visit the website at www.fixmystreet.com, pop your postcode in and see what issues have been raised about your street?
You could even get involved with your local Neighbourhood Watch by visiting www.neighbourhoodwatch.net.
Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon!
