Reporting a crime? How can we help?

If there is an emergency, always call 999. For Police purposes, an emergency is when:

  • There is a danger to life
  • There is a risk of serious injury
  • A crime is in progress or about to happen
  • An offender is still at the scene

We aim to arrive at emergencies within 10 minutes.

If your call is not an emergency, you can contact Kings Heath Police Station via our Central switchboard on 0845 113 5000.

Our helpdesk deals with all non-emergency calls. They will assist you by taking details of an incident which needs Police attendance (but is not an emergency), provide you with a crime reference number or offer you advice.

It is important to note that the Police do not deal with all issues that may affect the way you live or how you can improve your safety and well being in Society. Help us to help you by not phoning the Police when you don’t need to. Often we receive calls which should be directed to other agencies. While we are tied up dealing with these calls, we cannot deal with police-related matters.

The following are to assist you in finding the correct agency to deal with your problem:

  • Birmingham City Council (abandoned cars, housing, schools, Ward information & services ) 0121 303 1111
  • Crimestoppers 0800 555 111
  • Environmental Health (fly tipping) 0121 303 1112
  • National Drugs Helpline 0800 776600
  • National Missing Persons Helpline 0500 700 700
  • Star Support - free counselling service for victims of domestic abuse, 0121 378 4700. 86a White house common Road B75 6HD
