Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:
Reducing Anti- Social behaviour in the Kempas Highway, Green Lane area.
Concerns have been raised by local residents surrounding the subway/ underpass at Green lane/ Kempas Highway and surrounding area with regard to anti social behaviour and nuisance by local youths. The same group also loiter close to the parade of shops which by their nature open until later evening. The group are not overtly aggressive, but their general attitude and gatherings are interpreted by vulnerable members of the public as intimidating. Local shops on Kempas Highway and areas surrounding Finham Park School are areas currenlty causing an issue.Feedback
Increased Patrols.: 15/06/13 - Officers have contiued to provide high visibility patrols around the locations stated above, and have identified numerous youths involved in gathering in groups. the youths have been advised or visited at their home address with parents. Council officials and police have also held meetings with local youth workers to progress youth activity programmes throughout the summer period, with a view to divert the youths away from anti social behaviour. Officers are also patrolling Hexworthy Avenue following reports of youths gathering in that location.
Officers and PCSOs from your neighbourhood policing team want you to be involved in the decisions that affect the place where you live. Listening to you helps us to improve our service and make positive changes in the community.
Here’s how you can get involved:
• Contact your local team by telephone or email
• Visit your local police station
• Stop an officer or PCSO on patrol and have a chat
• Find us on Facebook or Twitter from the menu on the right hand side of this page
• Follow one of our inspector blogs from the same menu on the right
• Join or start up your own Neighbourhood Watch scheme
• Report anti-social behaviour via the It’s Your Call hotline on 024 7683 1300
• Report environmental concerns to www.fixmystreet.com
• Call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with information about crime.
You can also find us out and about in the community at:
• Street briefings – meet local officers on your doorstep, often in the police community van. This allows us to travel to different areas, offering advice, support and the opportunity to have your say on policing.
• Police surgeries – drop in on the day and talk to us about your concerns. No appointment necessary.
• Ward Forums – run in the evening by the council and led by one of the three councillors responsible for each of the city’s 18 wards. Open to everyone, including the public and other agencies, the forums are about making life in our neighbourhoods better together.
• Residents’ Associations – there are dozens of groups representing residents’ views across the city. They are run by local people for local people and help to build a stronger sense of community in Coventry.
Details of street briefings and police surgeries are advertised on each neighbourhood page of this website; along with some ward forums and residents’ association meetings.
Whichever method of communication you choose to use, we look forward to hearing from you.
