Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:
Student Premises Burglaries.
We have been targetting students directly via the Universities, trying to educate them with regards to crime prevention and safe recording of their property. We have provided more visible patrols in the areas most likely to suffer and this appears to be having the desired effect and is keeping the burglars at bay.Feedback
Burglaries.: The team continue to conduct high visibilty patrols around the local area in order to try and prevent burglars and target possible offenders. There have been some burglaries recently in the area and letters have been posted to inform other local residents in addition to the general patrols conducted. 30/04/13.
Drug Use / Drug Dealing.
High visibilty patrols in combination with great community intelligence is allowing us to keep on top of any ongoing drug issues. We have had some good successes with regards to seizure of drugs and partnership working is maximising the impact of pre-emptive intervention programmes.Feedback
Drugs.: This work continues and the team continue to have some good successes with regards to seizing drugs and arresting offenders. Community intelligence is a key thing here and the more this continues the more successes we will have. 30/04/13.
Officers and PCSOs from your neighbourhood policing team want you to be involved in the decisions that affect the place where you live. Listening to you helps us to improve our service and make positive changes in the community.
Here’s how you can get involved:
• Contact your local team by telephone or email
• Visit your local police station
• Stop an officer or PCSO on patrol and have a chat
• Find us on Facebook or Twitter from the menu on the right hand side of this page
• Follow one of our inspector blogs from the same menu on the right
• Join or start up your own Neighbourhood Watch scheme
• Report anti-social behaviour via the It’s Your Call hotline on 024 7683 1300
• Report environmental concerns to www.fixmystreet.com
• Call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with information about crime.
You can also find us out and about in the community at:
• Street briefings – meet local officers on your doorstep, often in the police community van. This allows us to travel to different areas, offering advice, support and the opportunity to have your say on policing.
• Police surgeries – drop in on the day and talk to us about your concerns. No appointment necessary.
• Ward Forums – run in the evening by the council and led by one of the three councillors responsible for each of the city’s 18 wards. Open to everyone, including the public and other agencies, the forums are about making life in our neighbourhoods better together.
• Residents’ Associations – there are dozens of groups representing residents’ views across the city. They are run by local people for local people and help to build a stronger sense of community in Coventry.
Details of street briefings and police surgeries are advertised on each neighbourhood page of this website; along with some ward forums and residents’ association meetings.
Whichever method of communication you choose to use, we look forward to hearing from you.
