CCTV appeal following Coventry student food store burglary
20 March 2012
POLICE Coventry have today issued CCTV of a man wanted in connection with a burglary at a store based in the university's Hub Building, Jordan Well.
It is alleged that between 7.45pm and 8pm on Tuesday 21 February, the man captured on CCTV, entered Amigo food stores in the city centre, searched an office and stole a large quantity of cash from the safe.
PC Corrie-Louise Brown is leading the investigation. She said:" We're asking local people to help us solve this crime by identifying the man captured in the CCTV images.
"Perhaps they use the same bus as the man or drink in the same pub. If so, we really need those people to contact us and tell us what they know."
The man officers would like to speak to is described as white, approx 5'6''-5'9'' tall and of stocky build. He is aged around 40-50, with reddish stubble.
At the time of the offence, he was wearing a dark green jacket, black and white baseball cap with a white peak and white left side. He had dark trainers with a white flash on the outside. He also wore glasses and carried a black rucksack.
Anyone who can identify the man in the images should call PC Brown on 101. Alternatively, people who do not want to speak with police officers directly can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
