Answers - feedback and solutions
The following are the issues raised from our last neighbourhood meeting and what we are doing to tackle them:
- Noise and Anti-Social Behaviour around Broad Street
To date there have been a series of meetings between partnership agencies organized by your neighbourhood team in order to come up with a long term solution for this ongoing problem. Extra signage around the area has been erected by your local council to inform and remind all visitors to the area that it is a residential area. Joint initiatives to address the noise issues have been undertaken with licensing enforcement officers, the highways agency, the DVLA, the council and out road policing unit however these are ongoing. Your local officers have been conducting dedicated patrols in the area during prominent times over the last two months focusing on the areas flagged. Feedback from residents is that these patrols have been successful. - Washington Court and City Mission
As a result of the building being flagged up as a site which many local offenders reside or visit the neighbourhood team have set up monthly meetings with the management company in order to monitor activity. These meetings have flagged up issues that have been dealt with promptly due to constant communication with the local officers. In between meetings officers have been conducting regular walkthroughs of the building as well as visits to residents. Again, these actions are ongoing and will always reflect the needs of the community. Swift and robust action will be taken towards those who are engaging in criminal activity. - Speeding Motorists and Parking along Sheepcote Street
During December the decision has been made to train officers in new anti-speeding technology which will be used for increased dedicated speeding operations around Sheepcote Street and King Edwards Warf. Its hoped once this training is completed residents from the area will be asked to join the neighbourhood officers in demonstrations of the new equipment in order to show how their concerns are being dealt with. In response to the inconsiderate parking around Sheepcote Street in excess of 40 fixed penalties have been issued in the area by your local team, as well as around King Edwards Warf. The council have put down white 'H' markings in the road to help with the issue and a traffic regulation application submitted for double yellow l
