Neighbourhood Policing

Neighbourhood policing allows the police, our partners and the public to work closely together to solve the problems of crime and disorder and make our communities feel safer.

Neighbourhood policing means having dedicated teams of officers accountable for dealing with issues that matter most to local people. A dedicated neighbourhood team works in your area, made up of police officers, police community support officers and special constables.

The team also works closely with partner agencies, including the local authority, housing, health, businesses etc to improve the quality of life within our neighbourhoods.

To find your neighbourhood please enter your postcode here:

The E1 Bournville Lane OCU is divided into three sectors:

Since April 2006 we have changed the way we police our community. Dedicated Neighbourhood Policing teams ensure that the right number of people police the right areas in the right numbers.

Our neighbourhood teams should start to become familiar faces in your area as they work to solve local crime and anti-social behaviour issues. Please feel free to approach them and discuss your concerns or speak to them at one of the many local meetings they attend.

The key to our future success in fighting crime is in working in partnership with other organisations and the wider community. We are keen to listen, please tell us how we can help.

Sector Policing

As part of neighbourhood policing, Bournville Lane was split into three neighbourhood sectors; North, West and South.

Each sector is headed by an inspector, detailed below, who is responsible for the sergeants and constables who police each neighbourhood.
