Welcome to Bournville Lane operational command unit (OCU), I am Surjeet Manku and its my privilege to lead the officers and staff that cover the areas of Bournbrook, Bournville, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Northfield, Frankley and Rednal, West Heath and Longbridge, Bartley Green and Weoley Castle.
We are committed to delivering a first class service in keeping you safe and dealing with what matters most to you.
In making sure we are sensitive to your local needs, the OCU is divided into three sectors, each of which is under the command of an inspector who heads a team of officers responsible for policing your neighbourhood. Local policing brings every aspect of the community together to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour. It allows us to work with wardens, partner agencies and the community to tackle your concerns. Alongside these neighbourhood officers, we continue to provide 24 hour response and specialist teams to deal with serious crime and road policing.
You can influence what we do by contacting us and telling us what matters most to you or by attending meetings in your area. These meetings are held by the police and other partners; you can check on progress and hold us to account. This website contains details of how to contact us and when and where the meetings are held. This is the minimum level of engagement and we will be out and about seeking further opportunities to speak with you and hear your concerns.
