Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:
KINGSTANDING CIRCLE.
Agreed May 2013: Several reports of vehicles parking dangerously on the island causing problems for pedestrians and other road users. Due to the late nights there has been an increase in reports of groups of youths in the area drinking and smoking and causing a nuisance.Feedback
kingstanding circle.: The implementation of the fencing around the island has dramatically reduced the inconsiderate parking and although on occasions vehicles still park in an inconsiderate manner they are dealt with by way of a penalty notice. Increased patrolling of the area not only by Neighbourhood Teams, but the community and priority teams (CAPT) and also response teams. We have successfully gained a restraining order on one individual who kept attending the Kingstanding Public house which will be stringently managed.
reduce burglary dwelling across the ward.
Agreed May 2013 - This time of year has traditionally seen an increase in burglary offences. The team are working hard to reduce these across the ward and employ a number of tactics, such as high visibilty patrols, target hardening and enforcing cufew checks on those currently on bail, which has achieved a reduction of -26% year to date. Late nights are starting so please remember to close windows, use timers, close curtains and report any suspicious activity in your area.Feedback
Reduce Burglary accross the Ward.: Oscott has seen several burglary dwellings recently and entry has been gained via rear of the properties. Patrols have increased around the highlighted offending times. We are targetting known offenders in the area and will continue to gather intelligence. A number of arrests have been made and efforts are continuing to identify the offenders and reduce burglary in Oscott.
Our neighbourhood policing teams aim to ensure that any concerns you have about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly.
To be able to do this we need your help and support. We want to hear from you about any issues you think we should be tackling in your community.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved, and we have listed some suggestions below:
• Come along to one of our community meetings which are held regularly held in your neighbourhood.
• Call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 and ask to speak to your neighbourhood team. Alternatively, you can email your neighbourhood officers.
• Join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme: visit www.neighbourhoodwatch.net for more information and to find a local scheme.
• Give information about crime anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Crimestoppers are not the police, but an independent charity working to fight crime.
Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon and don’t forget you can always find out the latest priorities and meeting dates for your neighbourhood here on our website.
