Priorities and Issues

Open / Close

Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:

  • Rubbish Scavengers.

The Soho Neighbourhood Tasking Group held a meeting on 14/03/13. The NTG decided that the problem of people scavenging through rubbish bags across the ward was a significant issue that needed to be dealt with. All the partner agencies, Council, Police and community groups will now devote time and resources into tackling this problem. The streets that have been blighted by this problem were Winson Street and Hingeston Street in Winson Green. We ask the community to let us know who is scavenging through bin bags so we can put an end to this problem. PS 6610 Lawless.

  • Neighbourhood Priortiy.

The Soho Ward Neighbourhood Tasking Group met on Thursday 9th May 2013 at Summerfield Police Station. The group decided that the priority for the next month would be to tackle people driving at excess speed across the ward. A number of roads were identified where it was felt that drivers were driving too fast on. There is a clear link between driving at excess speed and being involved in a road traffic collision. The priority for the group is to promote safe driving and prevent anyone being hurt by a car travelling at excess speed. Police officers will now carry out some analysis on particular

Get involved

Our neighbourhood policing teams aim to ensure that any concerns you have about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly.

To be able to do this we need your help and support. We want to hear from you about any issues you think we should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways that you can get involved, and we have listed some suggestions below:
• Come along to one of our community meetings which are held regularly held in your neighbourhood.
• Call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 and ask to speak to your neighbourhood team. Alternatively, you can email your neighbourhood officers.
• Join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme: visit www.neighbourhoodwatch.net for more information and to find a local scheme.
• Give information about crime anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Crimestoppers are not the police, but an independent charity working to fight crime.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon and don’t forget you can always find out the latest priorities and meeting dates for your neighbourhood here on our website.
