Priorities and Issues

Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:

  • Issue:-ASB in Melbourne and Ventnor Avenue,Newtown.

Local residents have reported an increase in ASB in the area identified.Police will be working with housing and other partners to reduce the level of ASB at this location which has an impact on the livlihoods of local residents in the rea.

    AGREE / DISAGREE1

  • Issue:-Street Drinkers in Great Hampton Row.

Street drinkers at the location cause intimidation to local shoppers who frequent the location. There is also an alchohol restriction Zone in the area, which gives Police and other agencies powers to disperse and remove alcohol. As the evenings get brighter, the street drinkers are re-appearing at that location.

    AGREE / DISAGREE0

  • Priority:-Robbery Reduction on Aston Ward.

During the month of April , Aston Ward has seen an increase in Robberies. This is having an impact on the local community. Aston Police working with partners will devise a Patrol and Offender Management Strategy to tackle known local robbery offenders on the ward to ensure that the local community feels safe and improve Trust and Confidence in our ability to tackle this crime issue.

Get involved

Our neighbourhood policing teams aim to ensure that any concerns you have about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly.

To be able to do this we need your help and support. We want to hear from you about any issues you think we should be tackling in your community.

There are lots of ways that you can get involved, and we have listed some suggestions below:
• Come along to one of our community meetings which are held regularly held in your neighbourhood.
• Call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 and ask to speak to your neighbourhood team. Alternatively, you can email your neighbourhood officers.
• Join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme: visit www.neighbourhoodwatch.net for more information and to find a local scheme.
• Give information about crime anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Crimestoppers are not the police, but an independent charity working to fight crime.

Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon and don’t forget you can always find out the latest priorities and meeting dates for your neighbourhood here on our website.
