Welcome to Birmingham South Local Policing Unit

With the evenings getting lighter now that spring is here, residents of south Birmingham are being reminded to remain vigilant and to keep their homes and gardens secure.

Statistics show that opportunist burglaries traditionally increase in the spring and early summer. To reduce the chance of becoming a victim of burglary, please remember to securely lock windows and doors and to double check them before bed.

Garden sheds, garages and outhouses can also be targeted by criminals in the summer months so please remember to secure them and keep garden tools safely locked away.

We are working extremely and to reduce crime across the south of Birmingham and are pleased to report that crime has fallen significantly over the past 12 months.

Officers also take reports of anti-social behaviour extremely seriously and regularly visit victims to provide feedback around concerns. A number of anti-social behaviour orders have been approved in recent weeks ensuring that those causing the most concern are now subject to strict conditions.
