How to get involved
Our neighbourhood policing teams aim to ensure that any concerns you have about the area in which you live are identified and acted upon quickly.
To be able to do this we need your help and support. We want to hear from you about any issues you think we should be tackling in your community.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved, and we have listed some suggestions below:
• Come along to one of our community meetings which are held regularly held in your neighbourhood.
• Call West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 and ask to speak to your neighbourhood team. Alternatively, you can email your neighbourhood officers.
• Join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme: visit www.neighbourhoodwatch.net for more information and to find a local scheme.
• Give information about crime anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Crimestoppers are not the police, but an independent charity working to fight crime.
• Tell us what you think by completing our online survey.
Whichever method you prefer, we hope to hear from you soon and don’t forget you can always find out the latest priorities and meeting dates for your neighbourhood here on our website.

Feedback and solutions
- Reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB)
Earlier this month, we have had reports of anti-social behaviour reported to us in Dreghorn Road. A number of youths had also been drinking in the street and throwing bottles and cans in the road. The perpetrators have been warned by police and by the council and eviction proceedings may be instigated if the behaviour continues. Officers have increased their presence in the road. During June, we noticed an increased number of reports of anti-social around the Raven pub and Maryland Avenue. We increased the number of officers in these areas and made house to house enquiries to gain more evidence. We identified six individuals responsible and they have all been issued with warning letters regarding their behaviour. - Tackling drugs
During May and June, your team have carried out in excess of 25 warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act. This has resulted in 16 arrests and the recovery of a considerable amount of class A and class B drugs with a street value of over twenty four thousand pounds. In addition to the drugs, your team have also recovered two firearms. Thousands of pounds in cash has been seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and numerous residents have been evicted from their properties as a result of drug-related activities. We will continue to target drug dealers in the area, and work with the council to remove dealers from our neighbourhood. - Parking
Parents and local residents have reported parking issues to us, particularly around Firs School and Heathlands School. Dangerous and illegal parking around our schools puts children at risk. We are patrolling around our schools at the start and end of the school day. Motorists who are parked illegally will be dealt with appropriately. - Other neighbourhood news
- Your neighbourhood team have seized a number of dangerous dogs from the Hodge Hill neighbourhood following concerns raised by our residents. - Six quad bikes have been seized during June. - Your PCSOs have conducted a number of surveys in the homes of elderly and vulnerable residents. We have made referrals to agencies in order to improve their home security and protect them from harm. - A Business Watch Scheme is currently being set up at the Fox and Goose Shopping Centre to support local businesses. - Youth4em diversion programmes have been running in the neighbourhood. Youth4ems involve young people in their community and they work closely with police and the council to improve our neighbourhood.
