Your neighbourhood team are currently working with the community and partners to address the following:
Anti Social Behaviour - Lakey Lane.
A number of incidents of anti social behaviour have been reported by shop owners and residents dating back to December 2012. This has resulted in damage being caused to two shop fronts and another building on Lakey Lane Parade. A disorder in which two persons were assaulted as well as stones being thrown at passing buses. These incidents have mostly occured during the early evening particularly at weekends. Officers have carried out uniformed patrols at peak times to provide reassurance and we are working closely with our partners in the local authority to implement a range of measures.Feedback
Anti Social Behaviour - Lakey Lane.: Officers have continued to carry out uniformed patrols during evenings and through out the week. Main offenders have been issued with Final Warning Letters and two youths have signed Accepatable Behaviour Contracts in the presence of parents which carry certain conditions. Police are working with business premises with a view to setting up a Business Watch Scheme. and have also carried out a survey into anti social behaviour with residents. Feedback from this has been passed onto the local authority who are working closely with officers. A number of young person have come to notice for there involvement in anti social behaviour and a range of measures have been put in place. These have included issuing of warning / advice letters and behaviour contracts which if not completed satisfactorily can result in an ASBO. The Housing Dept and Youth Offending Service
Anti Social Behaviour - Highfield Rd.
Residents report that on and around the parade of shops on Highfield Rd, opposite Yardley Wood Train Station groups of youths are congregating to drink alcohol in shop door ways during the late evenings and into the early hours of the morning causing a disturbance and intimidating residents and leaving litter. Also reports of graffiti being left on the shops roller shutter doors and drugs being smoked and dealing taking place at the rear of the shops with rubbish left attracting rats.Feedback
ASB - Highfield Rd.: Officers are to carry out high visibility patrols of the area at targeted times especially during late evenings to identify those individuals and groups who are drinking alcohol and acting in a noisy manner disturbing residents. A joint visit is planned for 3pm Thursday 23rd May which will include officers from the local neighbourhood team, fleet and waste, fire service and a local councillor with a view to assessing the extent of the problems and providing effective soloutions.
Speeding and Parking issues Baldwins Lane.
Residents report that a growing concern is the number of speeding vehicles particularly during the evening rush hour traffic on Baldwins Lane. Vehicles are also parking in a dangerous manner on the triangle area between Scribers Lane and Baldwins Lane and blocking the footpath and causing an obstruction of view for vehicles turning into Baldwins Lane from that junction. Speedwatch patrols are due to take place together with Hall Green Street Watch with tickets being issued by PCSO's when appropriate. Council engineer will assess suitability for double kerbing.Feedback
