In March 2014, West Midlands Police will be holding its second annual Diamond Awards ceremony. The annual awards have been put in place to allow the general public, officers, staff, and partners to recognise and reward members of the police family who have acted 'above and beyond' what is expected of them.
Over the last ten years West Midlands Police has reduced crime to incredibly low levels. Behind this success is a dedicated team of officers and staff that continually achieve and deliver a service that their friends and family would be proud of.
With this in mind we are asking for your help to identify those individuals and teams that over the last 12 months have made a significant contribution in helping make the West Midlands a safer place to live, work and visit.
Therefore, if you know an individual or a team who deserves to be recognised - whether it be for a fantastic piece of work or for a long standing community initiative - this is your chance to show them that they are valued.
Anyone can make a nomination for police officers, police staff, PCSOs or special constables across a range of eleven categories. There is also a special category - the Community 'Thank You' award - to recognise an individual or group that have worked closely with the police to make a real difference to our communities. You can read more about the eleven categories including brief descriptions of the category requirements in the categories section of this site.
Our panel of judges chaired by Deputy Chief Constable Dave Thompson will decide the worthy winners before presenting the awards at a ceremony in March 2014.
