We have launched some major new changes to improve the service provided to members of the public.

Continous Improvement programme

The changes follow work carried out by the force’s Continuous Improvement programme.

The new way of doing business is built on five key foundations: continuing to keep the public at the heart of everything we do, guaranteed neighbourhood policing, a strong dedicated investigative capability, delivering the right policing response and ensuring the most effective and efficient service possible.

The new changes are being introduced initially on Birmingham South and Solihull LPUs, before being rolled out across the force. The changes will minimise the bureaucracy officers currently face and enable us to deliver a more efficient service to the public we serve.

These changes will not affect the values that we strive to work to each and everyday:

  • Always put citizens at the heart of everything we do.
  • Deliver a first class service all the time.
  • Always treat people fairly and with respect
  • Better understand the needs of communities by genuinely listening to and engaging with them.
  • Deal with the things that matter to local people most.
  • Protect our communities from harm.
