Help us find off-road bike thugs who attacked cop with rocks

An off-duty West Midlands Police officer was knocked unconscious after being pelted with stones when he bravely tackled three bike menaces who were intimidating motorists in a Birmingham street.

The officer approached the louts outside Lidl in Kingsbury Road, Erdington, just before 8.30pm on Monday 12 June after they were seen riding dangerously in the road.

They responded by hurling rocks at his car and left him unconscious after one struck the side of his head.

West Midlands Police has issued an appeal to try and trace the bikers, one of whom is pictured on board an orange KTM motorbike and wearing a black Nike jacket and black Nike tracksuit bottoms.

The second one was wearing a black jacket and light grey tracksuit bottoms while riding a red Ducati motorbike; the third person involved was seen riding a silver Suzuki scooter and wearing a black jacket with dark grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

PC Daniel Lagorio said: “One of these youths is responsible for causing a significant injury and could have caused a major traffic accident by the way he was riding.

“We would like to identify all three people as a matter of urgency and would urge anyone who may know who they are to come forward."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 20BE/123264D/17.
