Police charge men in connection with Black Country robberies


Police investigating a spate of robberies at shops across the Black Country have charged a number of men.

James Taplin, aged 30, from Hawthorn Road, Tipton, has been charged with seven robbery offences at One Stop shops in Dudley and Sandwell, seven counts of possessing an offensive weapon and one charge of cultivating cannabis. 

Martin Rollason, aged 30, from Albionfield Drive, West Bromwich, is charged with six robbery offences and six counts of possessing an offensive weapon.

Both have been remanded in custody to appear before Dudley Magistrates Court Monday 15 May.

In a separate investigation, four men have been charged with robbery at a shops also in the Dudley and Sandwell areas after being detained by armed police in Dudley on 12 May.

Kyle Dingley, aged 18 from Victoria Road, Cradley Heath, Lee Pritchard, aged 23, from Gloucester Road, Netherton and Aiden Jenkins aged 19 from Field Road, Dudley are all charged with one count of robbery, while Brad Arnold, aged 20, from Beechwood Road, Dudley is charged with two robberies. All have been remanded to appear before Dudley Magistrates Court Monday 15 May.
