The mother of missing Coventry student Ozeivo Akerele has issued a heartfelt appeal for information which could lead to finding her son.
Irene Akerele has travelled from Abuja in Nigeria to assist with the search for Ozi, who has not been seen since the early hours of Saturday 31 January.
A sex pest who assaulted a woman on a Birmingham bus has been banned from the service for 18 months – the latest success for a police and public transport project that’s protecting passengers from sexual harassment.
Ashiq Hussain, from Saltley, repeatedly rubbed his leg against the 22 year-old passenger on the number X51 bus as it travelled along Walsall Road. Not only has he been banned from the X51 route but also prohibited from sitting next to any lone female passengers on public transport.
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed on his doorstep in Dudley earlier this week.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested at an address in Netherton following police inquiries and remains in police custody.

Detectives investigating a fuel card cloning scam have released images of two men they believe may have filled up with £30,000 of stolen petrol and diesel from forecourts across Birmingham.

A quick response by officers – which saw armed criminals arrested within minutes and a loaded gun taken off Birmingham’s streets – has resulted in three men being jailed for a total of 43 years.
Jamie Webster, Arron Burris-Hale and Sarbjit Bhamra were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court today (26 February) after being found guilty of plotting to possess a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
